Lake County Vaccine Plan & Timeline

  • Phase 1 - December 2020-March 2021 (estimated): vaccination of healthcare workers & first responders, 50+ aged residents, and frontline essential workers​​

    • March 19, 2021: Lake County providers are able to begin vaccinating residents in the Phase 1B.4 group. See more information here.

    • March 5, 2021: Lake County providers begin vaccinating residents in the Phase 1B.3 group. See press release. 

    • February 24, 2021: Safeway Pharmacy is now a vaccine provider in Lake County. There are very limited doses available. Safeway is currently immunizing based on state and local health department direction. Patients can sign up for an appointment at www.safeway.com/CovidClinic

    • February 8, 2021: Lake County providers begin vaccinating residents in the Phase 1B.2 group. 

    • January 29, 2021: Lake County to begin vaccination of residents aged 65+ and educators starting on February 8, 2021.

    • January 8, 2021: Lake County begins vaccination of residents aged 70+.

      • St Vincent Health (SVH) and Rocky Mountain Family Practice (RMFP) will call individuals who are patients of their clinics to schedule appointments.

      • If you are not a patient of SVH or RMFP please call SVH (719.486.0230) or RMFP (719.486.0500) to schedule your vaccination.

    • December 30: Lake County begins Phase 1B vaccine administration, continuing with first responders and healthcare workers and related professional sectors.​

    • December 22: Lake County receives its first delivery of Moderna vaccine and begins Phase 1A administration

  • Phase 2 (replaced former Phase 3) - vaccination of general public will begin Friday, April 2. ​

Vaccine Sites In Lake County

  • Lake County Public Health Agency will be coordinating COVID-19 vaccination phase scheduling, distribution, and reporting through the CDPHE-approved COVID Vaccination Provider Program for Lake County.

  • As of January 8, 2021, St Vincent Health and Rocky Mountain Family Practice have also been approved by the state as vaccine providers.

COVID Vaccine General Information

  • January 25, 2021: Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment launched a new call center for the public to ask questions specifically about the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine call center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

    • The new toll-free number is 1-877-CO VAX CO (1-877-268-2926).

  • Lake County is using the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This video provides an overview of how the vaccine was developed and how works in the body.
